Retranscription des paroles de la vidéo: Paris, the city of love, lights, and some of the best street [music] food in the world. It is our very first time here, and this week, instead of heading to fancy restaurants, we are hitting the streets to eat like the real Parisians do, one bite at a time. From buttery pastries to sizzling creps and [music] classic French snacks, we are tasting our way through the city’s most iconic bites. [music] And of course, there’s no better way to start a Paris street food day than with a perfectly flaky, buttery croissant. We went to a place called Meant Disabel, a place that makes many top [music] croissant lists of Paris. >> Dang, that’s a lot of trophies. >> There was a bit of a line and it got pretty tight in there. They only sell the two popular croissant variations, plain and chocolate. None of that fancy stuff we are going to eat later. >> [music] >> We’ll give this a try. >> Trying the chocolate version, which always looks like this different shape. So, here we go. >> Let’s see. >> Mine’s not the freshest, to be honest. So, you see the layers. It’s still tasting good, but >> you can taste the butter. A lot of layers. Nice crispy outside for croissant. I think this is very good. >> This one’s not the freshest. Take a bite of that and tell me if you think I’m crazy. I’m the plain one. It looks definitely nicer with all these rings. Oh, this one’s much better. >> This one does taste stale a bit. And I think that comes to the conclusion like when I was researching, every Parisian said their local bologonerie has the best croissant. I think it’s true. There’s so many good places going out here to wait in line for that. Is it worth it? >> To be honest, the croissants we had for breakfast in our last video were much better, [music] and it will only get better throughout this day. Paris is [music] beautiful and big. We are walking more than 25,000 steps a day through the [music] charming streets of the city. And this creates an appetite that only hardy food can [music] satisfy. >> Is this real? I thought Paris is expensive. $6.99 for Kop and Paris. Got to move to Paris. [music] >> So for a let’s call it brunch snack, we are looking for a French classic. But the version we found at this cute little corner Berie was not quite [music] what we expected. Okay. Can we? Yeah. Okay. Can we have one? >> Yes. >> Look at this thing. Don’t tell [music] me French people are all about small portions. Unless this is supposed to feed a family, which like I think it could. So on our way to Mat, we came across this typical bulerie. I asked, « We need the cockmiss. » And she said, « Yes, this is it. » It is massive. It’s basically two humongous mutated slices of French toast. It has ham and cheese on there. There’s some yellowed sauce and I think some onions and it’s like melted cheese on top. That’s the whole point of the the crocs, I guess. So, I don’t even know how to how to eat this, but I’m going to try. >> Good luck. >> I swear to cow, the camera isn’t doing justice to the size of this thing. >> It’s very hard to bite through, and you can’t tell me. Um, this is a on the hand eating thing. >> No, >> she asked if you want a fork. So maybe this is something the French people eat with knife and fork, but we also tried to cut this briefly with our wooden knife and it didn’t work at all. It’s just very thick bread and then you have the standard cooked ham layer of cheese I think below and above and then on top of that and when you bite into it, it’s so thick that you get all the cheese that is on top in your face. So I’m not sure how to eat this. Oh my god, dude. It’s actually very nice. Once you conquer the crust, it gets a little easier cuz it’s softer on the inside and the cheese taste comes through like a very strong but nice cheese taste. Good luck. >> Oh, the softer part so much easier. >> M. That’s good. I think Phil did all of the work biting through that crust because we’re in the nice soft, melty, gooey part of it and it’s so good. >> Yeah. So, first bite I thought this is not edible, possible physically to eat. >> I consider this street food, but I think it’s a little messy. So, um, maybe with like a we should have asked for it cut in half and it would have been good, but those that awesome. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Holy cow, what a piece of work. But in the end, worth it. With half of Misu Croc in the backpack, we slowly start climbing the [music] hills of Mo Matra, passing numerous food shops like Brasarice, Kebab Places, or [music] Asian cuisine, which is strong in Paris, too, and plenty of typical Parisian streets. So many all these shops look so good. They all have huge windows with huge amounts of food in there. >> I’m so full already. >> Do you think this has a better food culture than like Dist? >> Yes, of course. >> Really? Is this a city known? We’re walking up from the sand to the north and uh very cool areas. It’s getting a little hillier here and I think we just reached one of these main sections here. I think this right here is a big main street and then that’s the beginning of Matra, one of the most famous cute areas where we’re going to. Matra is supposed to be this romanticized charming hilly district of Paris that embodies Paris’s romantic flare and beauty. You just have to climb some stairs to get rewarded later, right? and on top. It does kind of feel that way, but there are also too many people here. And yes, we are part of them. You can have a caricature portray drawn of you up here or maybe your wallet stolen if you’re not careful. >> This is probably something where no local would set foot in ever. >> And through the tight alleys, everybody seems to flock towards the, I have to admit it, very impressive highlight up here, the Sakra uh sorry, Sakraur. This massive church was finished in 1914 and the bright stone exterior [music] make it look epic in the sun. Sitting 200 m above the sand below and giving an epic view of the city. It is also the second most visited landmark [music] of the city. Take a guess what number one is. I think in French is saying sakl like an expression of god damn it. And I always say sakur for fun. This >> is so cute. >> Sakur >> the little car. Look at it. Again, huge line to get in, but we decided long ago just to look at it from the outside, and I think that was the right decision. It’s kind of a double-edged sword. On the one hand, I don’t really like [music] mass tourism, but on the other hand, you want to see all these super famous things that you heard of from when you were a child. And I feel like that’s kind of the theme of Paris. Let me know what you think about that. >> Dude, I’ve been Where’s Waldoing Phil this whole time? Trying to find this guy right there. And dude, it was so hard. I I had to call him like twice. >> Enough [music] sightseeing for now. Time to eat some French crepe. I love how you can see how your crepe is being made. Or in our case, not a crepe, but a gal saras. The flip is my favorite. From Marsh on the inside, jumbo on the second layer. He seals the edge with some more cheese, which looks very cool. So, you can find these all throughout Paris, but there are sweet and savory. And I see sweet all over the world, like in the US and in Germany, even in Asia. But what I don’t see all the time are the savory ones. So, we decided to go with savory today. This is a buckwheat with cheese and ham pretty much. >> Yeah, it actually has a different name in French we put on the screen. >> I love ham and cheese things, so this is my stuff. Let’s go. M m. That’s so good. I usually go for like strawberry Nutella or banana Nutella. Those are like my favorite to go to. But savory is very good as well. This is nice. The best thing. It’s warming my fingers right now. >> Yeah, >> it’s warming my throat. It’s just a nice warm thing on this nice cool fall day right now. So good. So, this is really good. >> I do like it, too. I’m not quite sure about the 8 price tag, though. Time to leave the area. We quickly hopped into a train station and on a train to move back into the city center. We’re looking for another very French sweet staple of the city. Hot chocolate and [music] macaroons. We came to this little shop which was super cute and looking very [music] fancy. And the guy working there was super helpful, spoke fluent English and helped us out getting a nice selection of macaroons. >> Some people came. Yeah. Took everything. So right now I do only have rose mlon one coffee. People from Brazil they love macaroni. >> The Brazilian. >> Perfect. >> Yes. >> And one place. >> Yes. Please. >> All right. So the next stop brings us to a sweet treat or several sweet treats. We went to [music] this place called Angelina. A few said this is some of the best hot chocolate in the city. It looks [music] so good. Well, it’s it smells good. >> And apparently hot chocolate is a big deal in Paris. >> Yeah. So, let’s give it a try. >> And I [music] would assume it’s real chocolate, not just some cacao powder. >> This is so rich. It feels like I’m drinking chocolate. I mean, I guess that’s literally what hot chocolate is. But I feel like if I drank this whole thing, I’d be done for the day. Do people drink a single one of these themselves? >> 1500 calories. >> This is my caloric intake for the day. >> It’s more fluid than I thought. And it has a bit of that dark chocolate flavor. which I love. Like really chocolate. >> I’m surprised they’re not selling croissants to dip in there. >> I know. I kind of want to dip something. I don’t know if that’s surprisingly to me though, they’re often like 11 [music] or 13 at a cafe and I’m like, « Ooh, that is a steep price, but I assume they use good chocolate. I just don’t know. Is that normal? Let me know if you are from [music] Paris and if you buy hot chocolate for €13 sometime. » >> This one was €650. This place has a lot of chocolate and also macaroons as well. And we arrived and apparently there was a group of people that just came and bought them out. [music] >> He specifically said 30 Brazilians came and bought all the macaroons. >> He did say that >> like 30 people from Brazil just came. >> We have here M Blanc, which he said is one of the most popular [music] ones. Sold out. There’s rose and then there was coffee. So I guess I’m starting with the rose. Here we go. >> Show [snorts] us the the bite. >> Has a nice [music] white filling though. >> Mhm. It is very, very rosy. I also think macaroons are so delicate. Bill already pumped [music] his finger in there when we were trying to get B-roll. >> No. [laughter] >> Really tastes like a flower. [music] Give me the ML. >> This is supposed to be the best one. Does it taste like the mountain? >> M. Much better. Really? >> It’s a nutty filling. Like a nutty chocolatey filling. [music] Very different than the roast one. The rose one feels like artificial flavor. This one does not. So, I really like the texture of these. And I think this is very iconic elevated patisic [music] stuff. This one’s coffee. Very flavorful coffee creamer. Now there >> to last but not least, because I really wanted a raspberry macaron. We had to go with a big one. [music] This one itself is like 650. So they aren’t cheap, but I think it’s very difficult to get it this size. And this poof. I haven’t tried to make these. I’ve just seen videos. They look difficult. So give it a try. >> Wow. Looks so soft. >> I think this one’s the best. This is like the classic flavor to me. It’s so good. And the raspberry is so strong and tart. >> It better be because this [music] is also like basically a duna price. So the big macaroon. Maybe this is like the duna of Paris. [music] >> Solid street food stop. >> That is the most French street [music] food if anything. >> I also tried France’s most popular drink, Morina. [music] It’s an orange soda that is sparkly and it also has pulp in it. tastes quite unique [music] with the pulp. At some point, we stop at this cantina/g grocery store for a cheap kiche loven. Kiche is [music] a staple of French cuisine. Diana loves it, but it’s not my favorite. This one was not very good, but super cheap. We just had to snack one while in Paris. This is the second time that I’m seeing Thai street [music] food this place, Paya. I’ve not seen a Thai burger bow tai burger curry mango. Might want to try that at some point. That’s funny. We keep exploring and this area around the plast [music] felt special. >> I like the purple doors on this a lot. >> I think this is the spot where on Wilson went into the taxi [music] to go back in time in the movie Midnight in Paris. >> I’m waiting for the car to pick me up and take me to another time. >> Great movie. Many young people were sitting here eating baguettes and other snacks. Did you know that French people eat their classic Jean B sandwich about 1.4 [music] billion times a year? That’s about 2,000 of them every minute. So, I wanted to try one, but it was harder to find than you expect in this area. And I [music] ended up with this ham sandwich, which I think was more Italian style. It was okay. And so the reason we ended up going there is because it’s on another one of these lists for the best croissant in Paris. I decided to go with the more modernized version and this one has raspberry mixed in as well because we’ve had a lot of just plain butter croissants which are good but you know you got to switch it up a little bit. So we’ll see how good this one is. >> Curious how much filling that will be. >> Still has a nice buttery crispy layer. It does have a nice tart raspberry flavor. And I think after eating several croissants over the last couple of days, it’s nice to switch it up a bit, right? >> Is it the best one you had? >> I don’t know if it was just like bias, but like the first one we had in the other video might be the best one, but this one is very good. I think this is the second one. Best one. >> Check it out. And every time you eat something bready, which almost everything in France is bready, the pigeons are waiting for it. >> They love us. Oh, >> very nice. It’s almost like you put just jam on a croissant, but it’s built in already. It’s all pretty good. I think I finally cracked the code to Paris’s aesthetics. It’s all the awnings on the corner cafes. If you look over there, you have the little green one with awning. Looks very classic. But funnily, even Burger King, the French Hungry Jacks has it. And then right here at McDonald’s, too, they even get the little decoration like that. Make it look more French. >> But remember the Parisian baguette, the Jean Bon? We did not give up and finally found a real one. >> [music] >> One thing that we cannot miss on this street food tour is a Parisian baguette or as they call it here la Paris a Parisian and the original Parisian baguette comes with butter and ham jeon I bur I think and I read that it actually out sells the hamburger in France I think 1.2 two trillion or billion I think billion baguettes are sold every year. So we got a version here with butter ham but then also there’s cheese on it and pickles. So it’s just a jamboy forage like ham and cheese sandwich basically. I would assume this is very very popular too but it’s this cooked ham and of course mure. Here we go. Oh crunch. I feel so French right now. [laughter] I think the ingredients, nothing special. Standard butter. This cooked ham. Everybody knows some cheese and pickles. The star of the show is absolutely the bread. And this one’s very fresh. Just listen to this. >> The nice curse. >> I don’t know. And it feels very, very appropriate to just walk around with my baguette. >> I mean, honestly, we saw a lot of people midday with a baguette. Students and workers. >> Hey, morning snack, midday, evening, whatever. Evening with cheese. You know, maybe we can do that later. >> I’ve been brooled. That’s how you do it. >> I can live with that. Good bread. Always nice. >> It was getting late in the day and [music] we wanted to visit the highlight of the city. But on our way to the Eiffel Tower and a special night snack later, we walked down [music] the Shanziz and close to the area, we stopped at this little pastry shop that looked [music] so inviting and it did not disappoint. Nothing. Fancy little box here. >> So, next on the street food list is going to be some sweet treats. And I feel like France is full of them. And we decided to get two classic ones. This one is an aclair classic chocolate topped and cream filled inside. And Phil decided to get >> a tot or strawberries. I forgot the word for strawberry right now. But it’s a little strawberry cake with hopefully some custard underneath. And it looks very good. >> There were some great looking fig ones and raspberry as well. But the >> strawberries are a little loose. So I’m going to eat one first. >> That’s so filled. Oh my god. Wow. >> Normally, it’s cream filled, like a vanilla cream, but look at that chocolate. Oh my god. That’s so good. >> Dude, this is so good. Oh my god. Look at that. The custard in between the strawberries on top, like a little forest of red triangle-shaped buildings. Dude, this is my stuff. 10 out of 10. No joke. >> Really? >> Yeah, man. The pastries in France. >> I’m also not used to having chocolate inside of the aclair, but this is so good. Like, I was very pleasantly surprised. I think I would give this like a nine out of 10. This is awesome. Dang, this is um always happy with sweet treats in France. [music] And finally, the Eiffel Tower reveals itself. One of the most famous sites in the entire world. I saw it in numerous videos, but it felt more impressive and special to be here than we expected. >> This is insane. I just see the tops from everywhere we went in the city. We drove in, we see just the little tippy top. This is crazy. >> Yeah, it looks really massive and really >> painted. So, >> especially getting closer and closer. We’re not even that close to it. >> There’s like a painting. >> Yeah, especially with these like cloudy rainfilled clouds around it. Oh my god, it looks This is [music] All right, we’re walking closer. We’re on the bridge now, close to the Eiffel [music] Tower. Uh we came actually from the out of city side, which is that way. And I think it was kind of cool to do that >> cuz I always see in like in YouTube videos or in movies from the grassy side, right, the other side. >> We had an elevated view from a distance >> and it just appeared there like a painting in front of the city, not at the end of the city, which is nice. >> Um as you can see, it’s already getting a little dark. So, uh >> it’s going to turn on now. >> Yeah. Hopefully in a minute. Hopefully. >> I’m surprised by how strong I feel about this. I thought I was like, « Oh, it’s just going to be a tower. » >> What I definitely noticed though, and maybe this is a little bit of a travel warning, is that the amount of sketchy people around here tenfolded immediately. >> We already saw a few of the common scams occurring. >> Yeah, the ball game is a huge scam. Those are the famous scamming games of the Eiffel Tower area. And then a lot of the other things that happen here. >> Just very aware of all of our stuff right now despite us vlogging. >> Also pickpocketing. You just can feel it. This is the main area for all these like troops to like make a profit or something. Also barely remember last year the Olympic Games were here. >> It was a total coincidence that we were here at this time [music] because the sun was setting and the lights of the tower turned on. >> No, it looks massive. >> That’s what she said. The atmosphere in here was surprisingly [music] calm and special at the same time. >> I mean, it ain’t half bad, but I still think the Washington Monument is nicer than this. >> Get out of here. That is not true. >> We had no idea that at 6:00 p.m. [music] there was a light show for 5 minutes. [music] Can’t stop looking at it. Now it’s fully in the frame finally. It’s so pretty. >> And nobody back here. >> Look at that. >> Oh, just me talking at it. Oh, an an Eiffel Tower. And for our last and amazing night snack, we tried something not so traditional Parisian, but oh my god. >> So, weirdly, we see garlic naan everywhere advertised and fried chicken places. There are multiple chains we’re aware of. This one’s called Eat Chicken and we see them in the city. It seems to be a very popular thing that we didn’t know of. >> It’s common to see fried chicken and naan advertised on signs, which is an interesting combo. >> And this is basically a burrito style wrap with like fried chicken in there, but it’s naan bread instead. So, we ordered at this machine. You could choose all kinds of different ingredients, the spicy [music] version, non-spicy version. And it’s going to see uh how this is. It looks It feels very nice. Here we go. Do you know I can’t believe how nice this is. This is so juicy and the bread is really really nice. It’s really this naan style bread, not the typical burrito bread. It works so well with the fried chicken. There’s some crunchy coleslaw in there. Check the dark bread. That is a spicy batter of the chicken. It’s slightly spicy. There’s a ton selection of sauces and we picked pictures too. That sounded good or looked good. But then I can’t believe how [music] good this is. Are the chain restaurants in Paris also very good? Because damn it, I think this beats like 90% of the shawamas that we have in Germany. Wow, we’re going back there. That’s so good. And it’s orangeina. Orange. Orangeina. >> I think it’s orange Gina. We just keep calling it Orange Gina. >> Orange Gina. Here we go. .

.0 top [music] croissant lists of Paris.
.559 >> Dang, that’s a lot of trophies.
.879 >> There was a bit of a line and it got
.64 pretty tight in there. They only sell
.64 the two popular croissant variations,
.2 plain and chocolate. None of that fancy
.76 stuff we are going to eat later.
.4 >> [music]
.68 >> We’ll give this a try.
.719 >> Trying the chocolate version, which
.92 always looks like this different shape.
.68 So, here we go.
.559 >> Let’s see.
.68 >> Mine’s not the freshest, to be honest.
.52 So, you see the layers. It’s still
.199 tasting good, but
.64 >> you can taste the butter. A lot of
.159 layers. Nice crispy outside for
.159 croissant. I think this is very good.
.68 >> This one’s not the freshest. Take a bite
.04 of that and tell me if you think I’m
.88 crazy. I’m the plain one. It looks
.88 definitely nicer with all these rings.
.159 Oh, this one’s much better.
.4 >> This one does taste stale a bit. And I
.159 think that comes to the conclusion like
.6 when I was researching, every Parisian
.92 said their local bologonerie has the
.84 best croissant. I think it’s true.
.2 There’s so many good places going out
.88 here to wait in line for that. Is it
.439 worth it?
.32 >> To be honest, the croissants we had for
.159 breakfast in our last video were much
.0 better, [music] and it will only get
.36 better throughout this day.
.079 Paris is [music] beautiful and big. We
.28 are walking more than 25,000 steps a day
.6 through the [music] charming streets of
.119 the city. And this creates an appetite
.6 that only hardy food can [music]
.36 satisfy.
.56 >> Is this real? I thought Paris is
.159 expensive. $6.99 for Kop and Paris. Got
.799 to move to Paris. [music]
.2 >> So for a let’s call it brunch snack, we
.159 are looking for a French classic.
.08 But the version we found at this cute
.0 little corner Berie was not quite
.171 [music] what we expected.
.36 Okay. Can we? Yeah. Okay. Can we have
.599 one?
.239 >> Yes.
.319 >> Look at this thing.
.959 Don’t tell [music] me French people are
.4 all about small portions. Unless this is
.28 supposed to feed a family, which like I
.519 think it could. So on our way to Mat, we
.16 came across this typical bulerie. I
.959 asked, « We need the cockmiss. » And she
.959 said, « Yes, this is it. » It is massive.
.04 It’s basically two humongous mutated
.519 slices of French toast. It has ham and
.08 cheese on there. There’s some yellowed
.84 sauce and I think some onions and it’s
.0 like melted cheese on top. That’s the
.519 whole point of the the crocs, I guess.
.519 So, I don’t even know how to how to eat
.879 this, but I’m going to try.
.159 >> Good luck.
.959 >> I swear to cow, the camera isn’t doing
.12 justice to the size of this thing.
.28 >> It’s very hard to bite through, and you
.12 can’t tell me. Um, this is a on the hand
.84 eating thing.
.56 >> No,
.959 >> she asked if you want a fork. So maybe
.56 this is something the French people eat
.319 with knife and fork, but we also tried
.4 to cut this briefly with our wooden
.56 knife and it didn’t work at all. It’s
.159 just very thick bread and then you have
.68 the standard cooked ham layer of cheese
.68 I think below and above and then on top
.56 of that and when you bite into it, it’s
.239 so thick that you get all the cheese
.68 that is on top in your face. So I’m not
.68 sure how to eat this. Oh my god, dude.
.68 It’s actually very nice. Once you
.959 conquer the crust, it gets a little
.64 easier cuz it’s softer on the inside and
.56 the cheese taste comes through like a
.159 very strong but nice cheese taste. Good
.4 luck.
.239 >> Oh, the softer part so much easier.
.0 >> M. That’s good. I think Phil did all of
.64 the work biting through that crust
.159 because we’re in the nice soft, melty,
.08 gooey part of it and it’s so good.
.319 >> Yeah. So, first bite I thought this is
.0 not edible, possible physically to eat.
.56 >> I consider this street food, but I think
.4 it’s a little messy. So, um, maybe with
.959 like a we should have asked for it cut
.239 in half and it would have been good, but
.84 those that awesome.
.879 >> Yeah. Yeah.
.68 >> Holy cow, what a piece of work. But in
.0 the end, worth it. With half of Misu
.799 Croc in the backpack, we slowly start
.959 climbing the [music] hills of Mo Matra,
.959 passing numerous food shops like
.56 Brasarice, Kebab Places, or [music]
.88 Asian cuisine, which is strong in Paris,
.199 too, and plenty of typical Parisian
.84 streets.
.639 So many all these shops look so good.
.96 They all have huge windows with huge
.8 amounts of food in there.
.08 >> I’m so full already.
.04 >> Do you think this has a better food
.479 culture than like Dist?
.08 >> Yes, of course.
.52 >> Really? Is this a city known?
.68 We’re walking up from the sand to the
.44 north and uh very
.4 cool areas. It’s getting a little
.0 hillier here and I think we just reached
.88 one of these main sections here. I think
.96 this right here is a big main street and
.8 then that’s the beginning of Matra, one
.12 of the most famous cute areas where
.12 we’re going to. Matra is supposed to be
.6 this romanticized charming hilly
.08 district of Paris that embodies Paris’s
.039 romantic flare and beauty. You just have
.6 to climb some stairs to get rewarded
.6 later, right?
.56 and on top. It does kind of feel that
.639 way, but there are also too many people
.72 here. And yes, we are part of them. You
.36 can have a caricature portray drawn of
.759 you up here or maybe your wallet stolen
.32 if you’re not careful.
.16 >> This is probably something where no
.0 local would set foot in ever.
.08 >> And through the tight alleys, everybody
.0 seems to flock towards the, I have to
.24 admit it, very impressive highlight up
.8 here, the Sakra uh sorry, Sakraur. This
.72 massive church was finished in 1914 and
.36 the bright stone exterior [music]
.96 make it look epic in the sun. Sitting
.44 200 m above the sand below and giving an
.08 epic view of the city. It is also the
.72 second most visited landmark [music] of
.479 the city. Take a guess what number one
.56 is. I think in French is saying sakl
.6 like an expression of god damn it. And I
.479 always say sakur for fun. This
.199 >> is so cute.
.84 >> Sakur
.24 >> the little car. Look at it.
.919 Again, huge line to get in, but we
.16 decided long ago just to look at it from
.479 the outside, and I think that was the
.16 right decision. It’s kind of a
.68 double-edged sword. On the one hand, I
.759 don’t really like [music] mass tourism,
.28 but on the other hand, you want to see
.96 all these super famous things that you
.96 heard of from when you were a child. And
.199 I feel like that’s kind of the theme of
.96 Paris. Let me know what you think about
.88 that.
.6 >> Dude, I’ve been Where’s Waldoing Phil
.52 this whole time? Trying to find this guy
.6 right there. And dude, it was so hard. I
.88 I had to call him like twice.
.479 >> Enough [music] sightseeing for now. Time
.479 to eat some French crepe. I love how you
.199 can see how your crepe is being made. Or
.28 in our case, not a crepe, but a gal
.759 saras. The flip is my favorite.
.319 From Marsh on the inside, jumbo on the
.919 second layer. He seals the edge with
.88 some more cheese, which looks very cool.
.68 So, you can find these all throughout
.28 Paris, but there are sweet and savory.
.199 And I see sweet all over the world, like
.88 in the US and in Germany, even in Asia.
.96 But what I don’t see all the time are
.4 the savory ones. So, we decided to go
.0 with savory today. This is a buckwheat
.16 with cheese and ham pretty much.
.4 >> Yeah, it actually has a different name
.68 in French we put on the screen.
.28 >> I love ham and cheese things, so this is
.84 my stuff. Let’s go.
.039 M
.88 m. That’s so good. I usually go for like
.36 strawberry Nutella or banana Nutella.
.36 Those are like my favorite to go to. But
.039 savory is very good as well. This is
.96 nice. The best thing. It’s warming my
.039 fingers right now.
.84 >> Yeah,
.4 >> it’s warming my throat. It’s just a nice
.56 warm thing on this nice cool fall day
.639 right now. So good. So, this is really
.12 good.
.759 >> I do like it, too. I’m not quite sure
.08 about the 8 price tag, though.
.12 Time to leave the area. We quickly
.12 hopped into a train station and on a
.36 train to move back into the city center.
.639 We’re looking for another very French
.639 sweet staple of the city. Hot chocolate
.52 and [music] macaroons. We came to this
.599 little shop which was super cute and
.68 looking very [music] fancy. And the guy
.68 working there was super helpful, spoke
.0 fluent English and helped us out getting
.08 a nice selection of macaroons.
.56 >> Some people came. Yeah. Took everything.
.839 So right now I do only have rose mlon
.279 one coffee. People from Brazil they love
.32 macaroni.
.04 >> The Brazilian.
.959 >> Perfect.
.08 >> Yes.
.48 >> And one place.
.839 >> Yes. Please.
.399 >> All right. So the next stop brings us to
.08 a sweet treat or several sweet treats.
.56 We went to [music] this place called
.68 Angelina. A few said this is some of the
.92 best hot chocolate in the city. It looks
.171 [music] so good. Well, it’s it smells
.56 good.
.959 >> And apparently hot chocolate is a big
.8 deal in Paris.
.839 >> Yeah. So, let’s give it a try.
.68 >> And I [music] would assume it’s real
.12 chocolate, not just some cacao powder.
.6 >> This is so rich. It feels like I’m
.92 drinking chocolate. I mean, I guess
.44 that’s literally what hot chocolate is.
.12 But I feel like if I drank this whole
.64 thing, I’d be done for the day. Do
.32 people drink a single one of these
.839 themselves?
.72 >> 1500 calories.
.44 >> This is my caloric intake for the day.
.8 >> It’s more fluid than I thought. And it
.399 has a bit of that dark chocolate flavor.
.399 which I love. Like really chocolate.
.8 >> I’m surprised they’re not selling
.92 croissants to dip in there.
.12 >> I know. I kind of want to dip something.
.72 I don’t know if that’s surprisingly to
.88 me though, they’re often like 11 [music]
.88 or 13 at a cafe and I’m like, « Ooh, that
.8 is a steep price, but I assume they use
.72 good chocolate. I just don’t know. Is
.8 that normal? Let me know if you are from
.261 [music] Paris and if you buy hot
.88 chocolate for €13 sometime. »
.72 >> This one was €650. This place has a lot
.279 of chocolate and also macaroons as well.
.519 And we arrived and apparently there was
.68 a group of people that just came and
.2 bought them out. [music]
.079 >> He specifically said 30 Brazilians came
.079 and bought all the macaroons.
.519 >> He did say that
.56 >> like 30 people from Brazil just came.
.6 >> We have here M Blanc, which he said is
.079 one of the most popular [music] ones.
.279 Sold out. There’s rose and then there
.279 was coffee. So I guess I’m starting with
.279 the rose. Here we go.
.279 >> Show [snorts] us the the bite.
.8 >> Has a nice [music] white filling though.
.12 >> Mhm. It is very, very rosy. I also think
.399 macaroons are so delicate. Bill already
.24 pumped [music] his finger in there when
.519 we were trying to get B-roll.
.32 >> No. [laughter]
.16 >> Really tastes like a flower. [music]
.2 Give me the ML.
.16 >> This is supposed to be the best one.
.44 Does it taste like the mountain?
.32 >> M. Much better. Really?
.88 >> It’s a nutty filling. Like a nutty
.6 chocolatey filling. [music] Very
.88 different than the roast one. The rose
.079 one feels like artificial flavor. This
.839 one does not. So, I really like the
.519 texture of these. And I think this is
.2 very iconic elevated patisic [music]
.519 stuff. This one’s coffee.
.16 Very flavorful coffee creamer. Now there
.76 >> to last but not least, because I really
.36 wanted a raspberry macaron. We had to go
.2 with a big one. [music] This one itself
.72 is like 650. So they aren’t cheap, but I
.279 think it’s very difficult to get it this
.279 size. And this poof. I haven’t tried to
.44 make these. I’ve just seen videos. They
.04 look difficult. So give it a try.
.04 >> Wow. Looks so soft.
.32 >> I think this one’s the best. This is
.6 like the classic flavor to me. It’s so
.44 good. And the raspberry is so strong and
.44 tart.
.92 >> It better be because this [music] is
.12 also like basically a duna price. So the
.519 big macaroon. Maybe this is like the
.519 duna of Paris. [music]
.279 >> Solid street food stop.
.92 >> That is the most French street [music]
.36 food if anything.
.48 >> I also tried France’s most popular
.8 drink, Morina. [music] It’s an orange
.6 soda that is sparkly and it also has
.079 pulp in it.
.16 tastes quite unique [music] with the
.68 pulp. At some point, we stop at this
.56 cantina/g grocery store for a cheap
.279 kiche loven.
.399 Kiche is [music] a staple of French
.16 cuisine. Diana loves it, but it’s not my
.88 favorite. This one was not very good,
.279 but super cheap. We just had to snack
.68 one while in Paris.
.88 This is the second time that I’m seeing
.639 Thai street [music] food this place,
.16 Paya. I’ve not seen a Thai burger bow
.2 tai burger curry mango. Might want to
.2 try that at some point. That’s funny. We
.16 keep exploring and this area around the
.8 plast [music] felt special.
.2 >> I like the purple doors on this a lot.
.6 >> I think this is the spot where on Wilson
.92 went into the taxi [music] to go back in
.0 time in the movie Midnight in Paris.
.639 >> I’m waiting for the car to pick me up
.32 and take me to another time.
.0 >> Great movie. Many young people were
.16 sitting here eating baguettes and other
.24 snacks. Did you know that French people
.56 eat their classic Jean B sandwich about
.68 1.4 [music] billion times a year? That’s
.32 about 2,000 of them every minute. So, I
.399 wanted to try one, but it was harder to
.56 find than you expect in this area. And I
.109 [music] ended up with this ham sandwich,
.04 which I think was more Italian style. It
.32 was okay. And so the reason we ended up
.72 going there is because it’s on another
.32 one of these lists for the best
.24 croissant in Paris. I decided to go with
.519 the more modernized version and this one
.6 has raspberry mixed in as well because
.24 we’ve had a lot of just plain butter
.92 croissants which are good but you know
.44 you got to switch it up a little bit. So
.04 we’ll see how good this one is.
.68 >> Curious how much filling that will be.
.12 >> Still has a nice buttery crispy layer.
.76 It does have a nice tart raspberry
.44 flavor. And I think after eating several
.68 croissants over the last couple of days,
.76 it’s nice to switch it up a bit, right?
.399 >> Is it the best one you had?
.92 >> I don’t know if it was just like bias,
.68 but like the first one we had in the
.44 other video might be the best one, but
.36 this one is very good. I think this is
.56 the second one. Best one.
.68 >> Check it out. And every time you eat
.959 something bready, which almost
.079 everything in France is bready, the
.0 pigeons are waiting for it.
.76 >> They love us. Oh,
.72 >> very nice. It’s almost like you put just
.88 jam on a croissant, but it’s built in
.8 already. It’s all pretty good. I think I
.72 finally cracked the code to Paris’s
.56 aesthetics. It’s all the awnings on the
.279 corner cafes. If you look over there,
.279 you have the little green one with
.12 awning. Looks very classic. But funnily,
.519 even Burger King, the French Hungry
.959 Jacks has it. And then right here at
.44 McDonald’s, too, they even get the
.12 little decoration like that. Make it
.12 look more French.
.079 >> But remember the Parisian baguette, the
.32 Jean Bon? We did not give up and finally
.04 found a real one.
.775 >> [music]
.199 >> One thing that we cannot miss on this
.12 street food tour is a Parisian baguette
.76 or as they call it here la Paris a
.32 Parisian and the original Parisian
.16 baguette comes with butter and ham jeon
.6 I bur I think and I read that it
.44 actually out sells the hamburger in
.12 France I think 1.2 two trillion or
.44 billion I think billion baguettes are
.519 sold every year. So we got a version
.279 here with butter ham but then also
.6 there’s cheese on it and pickles. So
.6 it’s just a jamboy forage like ham and
.48 cheese sandwich basically. I would
.16 assume this is very very popular too but
.92 it’s this cooked ham and of course mure.
.36 Here we go.
.6 Oh crunch.
.0 I feel so French right now. [laughter]
.56 I think the ingredients, nothing
.16 special. Standard butter. This cooked
.0 ham. Everybody knows some cheese and
.519 pickles. The star of the show is
.279 absolutely the bread. And this one’s
.959 very fresh. Just listen to this.
.839 >> The nice curse.
.12 >> I don’t know. And it feels very, very
.72 appropriate to just walk around with my
.639 baguette.
.12 >> I mean, honestly, we saw a lot of people
.72 midday with a baguette. Students and
.639 workers.
.279 >> Hey, morning snack, midday, evening,
.839 whatever. Evening with cheese. You know,
.6 maybe we can do that later.
.8 >> I’ve been brooled. That’s how you do it.
.24 >> I can live with that. Good bread. Always
.079 nice.
.639 >> It was getting late in the day and
.066 [music] we wanted to visit the highlight
.68 of the city. But on our way to the
.92 Eiffel Tower and a special night snack
.399 later, we walked down [music] the
.24 Shanziz and close to the area, we
.639 stopped at this little pastry shop that
.959 looked [music] so inviting and it did
.8 not disappoint.
.959 Nothing.
.199 Fancy little box here.
.199 >> So, next on the street food list is
.88 going to be some sweet treats. And I
.8 feel like France is full of them. And we
.04 decided to get two classic ones. This
.639 one is an aclair classic chocolate
.88 topped and cream filled inside. And Phil
.12 decided to get
.92 >> a tot or strawberries. I forgot the word
.079 for strawberry right now. But it’s a
.36 little strawberry cake with hopefully
.44 some custard underneath. And it looks
.279 very good.
.759 >> There were some great looking fig ones
.88 and raspberry as well. But the
.32 >> strawberries are a little loose. So I’m
.56 going to eat one first.
.199 >> That’s so filled. Oh my god.
.319 Wow.
.039 >> Normally, it’s cream filled, like a
.12 vanilla cream, but look at that
.4 chocolate. Oh my god. That’s so good.
.079 >> Dude, this is so good. Oh my god. Look
.0 at that. The custard in between the
.52 strawberries on top, like a little
.12 forest of red triangle-shaped buildings.
.6 Dude, this is my stuff. 10 out of 10. No
.439 joke.
.839 >> Really?
.4 >> Yeah, man. The pastries in France.
.4 >> I’m also not used to having chocolate
.919 inside of the aclair, but this is so
.08 good. Like, I was very pleasantly
.919 surprised. I think I would give this
.28 like a nine out of 10. This is awesome.
.96 Dang, this is um always happy with sweet
.0 treats in France.
.387 [music]
.919 And finally, the Eiffel Tower reveals
.4 itself. One of the most famous sites in
.2 the entire world. I saw it in numerous
.679 videos, but it felt more impressive and
.24 special to be here than we expected.
.799 >> This is insane. I just see the tops from
.72 everywhere we went in the city. We drove
.16 in, we see just the little tippy top.
.48 This is crazy.
.52 >> Yeah, it looks really massive and really
.88 >> painted. So,
.52 >> especially getting closer and closer.
.799 We’re not even that close to it.
.559 >> There’s like a painting.
.84 >> Yeah, especially with these like cloudy
.52 rainfilled clouds around it. Oh my god,
.08 it looks This is
.307 [music]
.96 All right, we’re walking closer. We’re
.4 on the bridge now, close to the Eiffel
.512 [music] Tower. Uh we came actually from
.6 the out of city side, which is that way.
.52 And I think it was kind of cool to do
.36 that
.76 >> cuz I always see in like in YouTube
.6 videos or in movies from the grassy
.12 side, right, the other side.
.48 >> We had an elevated view from a distance
.32 >> and it just appeared there like a
.679 painting in front of the city, not at
.84 the end of the city, which is nice.
.52 >> Um as you can see, it’s already getting
.96 a little dark. So, uh
.0 >> it’s going to turn on now.
.28 >> Yeah. Hopefully in a minute. Hopefully.
.0 >> I’m surprised by how strong I feel about
.48 this. I thought I was like, « Oh, it’s
.84 just going to be a tower. »
.88 >> What I definitely noticed though, and
.64 maybe this is a little bit of a travel
.4 warning, is that the amount of sketchy
.72 people around here tenfolded
.48 immediately.
.12 >> We already saw a few of the common scams
.12 occurring.
.6 >> Yeah, the ball game is a huge scam.
.0 Those are the famous scamming games of
.039 the Eiffel Tower area.
.559 And then a lot of the other things that
.48 happen here.
.96 >> Just very aware of all of our stuff
.48 right now despite us vlogging.
.24 >> Also pickpocketing. You just can feel
.08 it. This is the main area for all these
.679 like troops to like make a profit or
.16 something. Also barely remember last
.16 year the Olympic Games were here.
.84 >> It was a total coincidence that we were
.08 here at this time [music] because the
.919 sun was setting and the lights of the
.84 tower turned on.
.28 >> No, it looks massive.
.72 >> That’s what she said. The atmosphere in
.28 here was surprisingly [music] calm and
.039 special at the same time.
.48 >> I mean, it ain’t half bad, but I still
.88 think the Washington Monument is nicer
.72 than this.
.36 >> Get out of here. That is not true.
.679 >> We had no idea that at 6:00 p.m. [music]
.0 there was a light show for 5 minutes.
.694 [music] Can’t stop looking at it. Now
.76 it’s fully in the frame finally. It’s so
.679 pretty.
.08 >> And nobody back here.
.0 >> Look at that.
.84 >> Oh, just me talking at it. Oh, an an
.4 Eiffel Tower.
.96 And for our last and amazing night
.2 snack, we tried something not so
.52 traditional Parisian, but oh my god.
.72 >> So, weirdly, we see garlic naan
.039 everywhere advertised and fried chicken
.96 places. There are multiple chains we’re
.039 aware of. This one’s called Eat Chicken
.88 and we see them in the city. It seems to
.4 be a very popular thing that we didn’t
.919 know of.
.32 >> It’s common to see fried chicken and
.919 naan advertised on signs, which is an
.159 interesting combo.
.2 >> And this is basically a burrito style
.2 wrap with like fried chicken in there,
.88 but it’s naan bread instead. So, we
.799 ordered at this machine. You could
.0 choose all kinds of different
.2 ingredients, the spicy [music] version,
.559 non-spicy version. And it’s going to see
.48 uh how this is. It looks It feels very
.799 nice. Here we go.
.84 Do you know I can’t believe how nice
.0 this is. This is so juicy and the bread
.039 is really really nice. It’s really this
.12 naan style bread, not the typical
.039 burrito bread. It works so well with the
.96 fried chicken. There’s some crunchy
.4 coleslaw in there. Check the dark bread.
.32 That is a spicy batter of the chicken.
.32 It’s slightly spicy. There’s a ton
.4 selection of sauces and we picked
.84 pictures too. That sounded good or
.36 looked good. But then I can’t believe
.64 how [music] good this is. Are the chain
.559 restaurants in Paris also very good?
.799 Because damn it, I think this beats like
.799 90% of the shawamas that we have in
.76 Germany. Wow, we’re going back there.
.08 That’s so good.
.799 And it’s orangeina. Orange.
.52 Orangeina.
.64 >> I think it’s orange Gina. We just keep
.24 calling it Orange Gina.
.36 >> Orange Gina. Here we go.
